| About Us |
| The youngest of four brothers, Joshua comes from a long line of talent in his family. His late grandmother, Kitty Chuckles, sang on the radio at age 13. Joshua's grandmother "Kitty" married a saxophone player for all the big bands in the 40's. Their daughter Judy (Joshua's mother), carried on the family legacy and married her high school sweet heart while singing in high school. Both of Joshua's parents sing and play piano. When he was seven his father told him he was going on a business trip and never came back. His mother struggled to raise him and his four brothers so she sang in nightclubs to make ends meet. With mom busy paying the bills and dad thousands of miles away it opened the door for these young boys to get into all kinds of trouble. This is when Joshua lost his way. One day as he sat on the corner totally burned out from a lifestyle of addiction and getting into trouble, a young lady approached him. She shared with him "The Good News" which he put into a song recently, describing his experience that day. Looking for a way to be free from his misery and bleak future he committed to follow after God and it changed his life. Shortly after that, he discovered that he too could sing, and he took up playing a guitar. Life has its up and downs so... In 1998, Joshua's music dream was completely destroyed by a trucking accident he had in Encino, CA. Another motorist had gone through a red light and crashed into his big rig. His left arm was caught in the steering wheel and broken in 5 spiral fractures. His arm was left broken for three days until he could get some help from Loma Linda specialists. When he got home he wept with his wife thinking he would never play guitar again. In 2002, he miraculously picked up his guitar again even though he had a metal plate in it and started writing songs again. After some personal struggles, he and his wife decided to sell their home in Big Bear, CA and go to Nashville, TN. He traveled across the United States with an RV and sang to many people along the way. While in Nashville he got to sing at Opry Mills in the Gibson Theatre and sing with musicians that backed people like Garth Brooks and George Strait. He met and learned from the most talented writers and musicians from all over the USA. He also recorded his Cowboy Romance demo. After Joshua returned he started the band Sojourner. They went on a songwriting binge and wrote over a dozen songs together touching many people along the way. They toured for a year, got played and interviewed on 99.5 KKLA. During this time another CD project was birthed and he went onto record Two Boards Three Nails. Since then Joshua has had the opportunity to play at many places but .... Life has its up and downs so... In 2008 he was swindled in a real estate deal and defrauded. This left his family homeless for months and in ongoing search for justice. In 2009 he was injured serving the military as he fueled them for war. The company never helped him and it caused him to lose everything he had. Still his dream to help the homeless, broken and destitute lives on in his heart because he knows what is like to be a broken man. This year he became an ordained chaplain and still uses his music to reach the heart of broken people. It is his heart's desire to build orphanages, help the poor and build a bridge to heaven with acts of kindness. It is important to him to be show true authentic love and generosity to those who are hurting. This will always be his mission. If you would like to invite Joshua to come to help with an outreach or community project please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for being part of the solution, Joshua Hallas |
